New Arc Collective / Draft for legal review
Terms of Use
Draft — owner and legal review required before publication.
This draft is not legal advice or a claim of legal compliance. It describes practices identified during an application review, which must be confirmed for the production service.
Initial draft. Effective date pending review.
These draft terms concern the New Arc Collective website and its member services. New Arc Collective is a nonprofit corporation registered in Nevada; its IRS status is pending. These terms are not a substitute for advice about applicable law. No paid product, checkout, or payment-processing flow was identified in the application code reviewed for this draft.
Using the service
Use the website and member services only for lawful purposes. Keep account credentials secure, provide information you are authorized to share, and do not attempt to disrupt, access without authorization, or misuse the service. Administrators may manage account access and the reports or other content made available through member features.
Information and external services
Website content is provided for general civic research and community engagement. Verify information that matters to you with appropriate primary sources. The website links to or may display content hosted by third parties. New Arc Collective does not control those websites, their availability, or their privacy practices; your use of them is subject to their terms.
Email updates
Community-update email is a separate service. New verified member accounts are enrolled by default as disclosed during registration, while existing opt-outs are preserved. Newsletter-only sign-up uses an affirmative choice and email confirmation. Recipients can manage their email preference using the controls provided in the email or website.
Free updates; no paid offering
The current Subscribe destination is the built-in free community-update signup; no external Subscribe override is configured. No payment, donation, paid membership, or checkout integration is present in the reviewed application. There is therefore no paid offering requiring a refund policy in the current service. Email-update recipients can cancel their subscription using the provided preference controls. If a paid offering or external Subscribe destination is introduced, the responsible organization and provider should publish applicable pricing, cancellation, refund, and privacy terms before accepting payment or linking to it.
Changes and legal review
These draft terms do not state governing law, dispute procedures, warranty exclusions, liability limits, or other jurisdiction-specific legal language. Those subjects require review and approval by the organization’s legal adviser. Publish final terms only after confirming the organization’s preferred legal identity, contact information, audience, and any external-service terms.
